New to the sport and are not sure where to start?  Here are a few information links that will help you acquire the gear you need!

Speed skates are different from recreational inline skates.  Here are the basics components: Boot, Frame, Axles, Bearings, Wheels.  


Good to Know
  • Know your mounting size of the boot to ensure that the frame will fit.
  • Know the configuration of the frame to know the count and size of the wheels that will fit the frame
  • Know what size of wheels your need - 

    • Know the hardness of wheels you need for durability, control, and speed.  As a general rule of thumb -
      • For outdoor
        • 84A (F2), 86A (F1), 88A (F0)
      • For indoor
        • 85A, 89A (F2), 91A (F1),  91A (Firm), 93A (XFirm)
