Getting Started

Beginner through expert levels are all welcome to join our team.   Your first practice is always free!  Swing by one of our practices to see if Speed Skating is a match for you. 

• Just come to Bethlehem Skateaway on Thursday (6:00-8:00), Saturday (5:00-7:00), or Sunday night (5:00-7:00) in comfortable clothes to get started
• Bethlehem Skateaway is located at 4500 Easton Ave in Bethlehem, PA

Monthly Dues
Membership Dues Membership dues are $55/month, paid to the Coach.   Have more than one skater in the family?  It’s only an additional $25 for each family member.

With paid membership dues, all skaters receive FREE admission to Open Skate sessions at Bethlehem Skateaway. To join the Speed Team just  contact Coach Brian at  610-751-2001 or email us at  skatebethlehemstars@gmail.com

What to Bring to Practice

• All skaters should wear comfortable clothes or a racing skin suit. 
• Bring a water bottle and sneakers! 
• Skates (any type). 
• No skates, no problem!  The coaches can provide loaner skates. 

Want to Race Competitively in Regional or National Races?

In order to race in any league or national meets, you must ALSO register to receive your amataur card with USARS.  

• Step 1: Click here to register with USARS (USA Roller Sports)
• Club Number for The Bethlehem Stars is PA160S
• Step 2: Make Payment on USARS website
• Step 3: Write down your USARS ID and send it to the coach!

Additional information about USARS Memberships

• Limited Membership (Youth)
• Allowed to compete in any USARS events excluding qualifying events.
• If you do not intended at competing at Nationals, you may choose the limited membership option.  This membership is $45 and is upgradable (just need to pay the upgrade fee). 
• Development (Youth)
• Allowed to compete or participate in local events.
• Full Membership (Youth) - 
• If you do plan on competing at Nationals, this annual membership fee is $80.
